Lost Children Centre

Lost Children Centre examines British youth culture at the turn of the 21st century. A four-year project shot between 2003 and 2007, the work explores this generation of young adults who are bemused by the society they face, a society that they’re not willing to wholeheartedly accept in a rejection to what is expected of them.

The work depicts a sensitive side to the friendships shown amongst male subjects, a side that is not often discussed while referring to British male characteristics. The preconceived judgements of male youth are challenged, thrown away, and replaced with the caring connection that the photographs subjects have with each other an almost intimate masculinity.
